Blog Post 19- Directed Audience

The directed audience is people are extremely emotional, or in other words people who lean more towards romantic and emotional films. These films often bring out large and impactful emotions for the audience, which result in crying, or in extreme cases sobbing.  My documentary has a lot of emotional factors between the separation and the children and wife missing there father figure and husband.

Having a directed audience can be extremely beneficial more multiple reasons. The first reason being that it will create a clearer and more direct message, this is extremely beneficial for the audience because things are simple and easy to comprehend. Another reason is a larger engagement if people know they will like it they are more willing to go which it creating great marketing. And overall will have better results because the documentary is based off of one main component that the audience knows they like to watch. It can also save a lot of time and money because instead of trying to please everyone i am only focusing on one maybe two specific groups.

But there is also many reasons why having a strict and direct audience can be bad. One reason this that people may feel excluded and not be happy with the product. As well that the message may become bias and only support a specific genre more than others. another huge reason is that it will only help one specific audience more than another, not reaching as many people. As well as it may be extremely misleading, and this can create a lack or creativity and growth.
